This is exciting: I’ve officially walked 1 million steps across Arkansas in our Walk A Mile statewide organizing tour! What’s even more thrilling is the energy for new leadership that we’ve been seeing on the ground. It’s clear that Arkansans are ready for change, and I can’t wait to have the opportunity to deliver.

I’m honored to have walked alongside so many incredible Arkansans in this tour. Talking to folks and meeting them where they’re at this time around has taught me so many lessons, but it’s also reminded me about why I’m in this race. Before I dive in further, can you chip in $35 or anything you can to build on this momentum?

People across the state are echoing the same thing: they’re ready for bold change. And what does that look like? Universal Pre-K, expanding Broadband, and investing in high-paying Jobs. On our first tour we were able to align our vision with that of Arkansans, taking into account what the people need. And on this tour, we’ve been able to explain just how we’ll get there: by coming together and making my vision for Arkansas a reality.

But all of this is threatened by my opponent, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who is being backed by the power of the national GOP. The same opponent who has refused to meet Arkansans where they’re at. The same opponent we had to pressure into finally accepting our proposal for a debate, as if voters don’t deserve to hear from their elected officials about why they’re running for office and how they’ll deliver on the most important issues people are facing. 

Since day one, we’ve made it our mission to reimagine what it means to campaign in a so-called “red” state. Our approach has been to reach every single Arkansan, despite their zip code, despite their political affiliation. Because, guess what? Our next governor will represent everyone. And the feedback we’ve been receiving on the ground shows that we’re doing this the right way.

I’m ready to get to work on day one the same way I’ve been campaigning on this tour. By listening to people about what’s important, and working together to find solutions.
