Seven years ago today, twenty first-graders and six teachers lost their lives in a mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School. As a dad, that day was excruciating. As a Senator, I have never forgotten that anguish.
In the last seven years, little has changed. We've seen mass shootings become an epidemic in our nation.
I have sat with Sandy Hook parents and mourned with them. And I have shared their immense frustration that Mitch McConnell, Donald Trump, Republicans in Congress, and the NRA continue to block even the most modest common-sense efforts to address this crisis claiming our children.
Political problems require political solutions. And that's where you come in.
As long Mitch McConnell and the NRA maintain control of the U.S. Senate, nothing will change. Time and again, they've made that absolutely clear.
The answer to gun violence in America is winning in 2020. Let us elect a Democratic majority in the Senate that will take on the NRA and enact real solutions to put a brake on the violence.
Donate before our year-end fundraising deadline. Let's make sure we flip the Senate.

It's time to get to work.
