Momentum for our movement to cancel student loan debt is growing:
The Department of Education just canceled $3.9 billion in student debt for students defrauded by ITT Tech.
This is a life-changing and life-saving decision for hundreds of thousands of borrowers, and a testament to the power of the pen — and we can still do more. That’s why Ayanna and our movement aren’t letting up the pressure on President Biden until he takes permanent, broad-based action.
Student debt is policy violence — no person should be forced to choose between making loan payments or putting food on the table.
And this nearly $2 trillion burden on families and people across the country is worsening economic inequality, preventing wealth building, and stifling millions of plans, hopes, and dreams — but we can change that without waiting for Congress to act.
The clock is ticking, and President Biden can cancel student debt with the stroke of a pen, providing sweeping relief to the millions crushed under this financial burden.
