John,

Seven years ago today our country changed forever. On December 14, 2012 a gunman entered Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut and opened fire, killing 20 first graders and six school administrators. That day inspired the Alliance for Gun Responsibility to form and we have been fighting to end the epidemic of gun violence ever since.

Since Sandy Hook, more than 700,000 people have been killed or injured by a gun in the United States. And in Congress, nothing has changed.

Last week, we joined hundreds of survivors and advocates in Washington DC for the 7th Annual National Vigil for All Victims of Gun Violence. We honored all those whose lives have been stolen by gun violence in the years since Sandy Hook and reflected on the progress that has been made and the work that must still be done.

Today, please join us in remembering the victims of Sandy Hook, their families, and their community and recommit to doing whatever it takes to create a world where we can all live free from the threat of gun violence.

Thank you,

The Alliance
