Federal Judge Directs DOJ to Release Redacted Affidavit Used in FBI Raid on Mar-a-Lago
Katie Pavlich: A federal judge in Florida may order the release of the affidavit used by the FBI to carry out a search warrant and raid on President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home last week…after it is heavily redacted. The decision to call for redactions comes after a number of news organizations requested and sued for the affidavit be released to the public. President Donald Trump has also called for a full release of the document without redactions ( Townhall). America Reports: Federal Judge Reinhart decides that some documents behind Mar-a-Lago raid are to be unsealed ( Twitter). ABC: The judge said he believes there are portions of it that presumptively could be unsealed — whether they would be meaningful is for someone else to decide, he said. The government may disagree with him on some points, he said, giving DOJ until next Thursday to file its proposed redactions ( ABC). Hugh Hewitt believes the affidavit should be unsealed. Cable News Watch: @hughhewitt: Burden is on DOJ to prove this isn’t a ‘crusade to get Trump’ ( Twitter).

CNN’s “Reliable Sources” Cancelled, Brian Stelter to Depart
Wall Street Journal: Brian Stelter, the host of CNN’s Sunday morning show “Reliable Sources,” is leaving the network following the cancellation of the long-running media news show, the network said Thursday. Mr. Stelter, who is also the network’s chief media correspondent, will anchor his last episode on Sunday, a CNN spokesperson said in a statement. The 36-year-old took over the anchor chair for “Reliable Sources” in 2013. He came to CNN from the New York Times, where he was a media reporter ( Wall Street Journal). National Review: Stelter and his show had been rumored to be on the chopping block ever since Chris Licht, who previously worked with Joe Scarborough and Stephen Colbert, succeeded ex-CNN president Jeff Zucker at the helm of the network ( National Review).

Biden Misrepresents Number of Jobs Created by CHIP Act
HotAir: The CHIPS Act includes about $52 billion in new spending to be delivered to the semiconductor industry in the form of manufacturing incentives and R&D money designed to spur more chip foundries in the United States. But when touting the new bill, Biden went just a bit beyond reality by claiming it would lead to more than a million new construction jobs. Glenn Kessler at the Washington Post asked the White House for the source of that claim. They were directed to a 2021 report by a semiconductor industry group which estimated the impact of a $50 billion investment in the industry ( HotAir). Washington Post: The first tip-off that the number is fishy is because the number is so big and round — 1 million. When we dug into the report, moreover, we could not find any reference to 1 million construction jobs being created. Instead, the report predicted such an investment — roughly equivalent to the Chips Act — would create “an average of 185,000 temporary jobs annually throughout the U.S. economy from 2021 to 2026.” Six times 185,000 adds up to more than 1 million. But note that these are not all construction jobs. In fact, few are construction jobs ( Washington Post).

Lawsuit: U.S. Government Wrongfully Pressures Big Tech to Censor Speech
Wall Street Journal: Alex Berenson is back on Twitter after being banned for nearly a year over Covid-19 “misinformation.” Last week the former New York Times reporter settled his lawsuit against the social-media company, which admitted error and restored his account. “The First Amendment does not apply to private companies like Twitter,” Mr. Berenson wrote last week on Substack. But because the Biden administration brought pressure to bear on Twitter, he believes he has a case that his constitutional rights were violated… Facts that Mr. Berenson unearthed through the discovery process confirm that the administration has been secretly asking social-media companies to shut down the accounts of specific prominent critics of administration policy ( Wall Street Journal). Dinesh D’Souza: We see regular chats and communications between the CDC and these tech agencies. We see high levels of coordination between the government and the tech industry ( Daybreak Daily). YouTube and boards the “bandwagon,” too. Daily Wire: YouTube has banned Steven Crowder from the platform for two weeks after Arizona GOP gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake appeared on “Louder with Crowder” for an interview, according to Crowder’s team. Lake had informed Crowder that if elected, she would investigate claims of fraud in the 2020 presidential election. On Wednesday, Crowder posted on Instagram a message from YouTube saying the podcast had been removed for violating the platform’s misinformation policy ( Daily Wire).

Kentucky Supreme Court Temporarily Upholds Abortion Ban Until Nov. 15 Hearing, After General Election
Townhall: On Thursday, Kentucky’s Attorney General Daniel Cameron revealed that the Kentucky Supreme Court upheld the commonwealth’s abortion ban, allowing the Human Life Protection Act and Heartbeat Law to remain in effect. This is at least for the timing being, while the court reviews the case ( Townhall). Attorney General Daniel Cameron: This morning, the KY Supreme Court denied an attempt to reopen abortion clinics in Kentucky. The Court’s order ensures that Kentucky’s Human Life Protection Act and Heartbeat Law remain in effect while the court case continues ( Twitter). ABC: The court agreed to take the case and set a schedule for the submission of briefs and for arguments before the justices. The high court set a hearing for Nov. 15. That will be after the upcoming general election, when a proposed constitutional amendment about abortion is on the ballot. Voters will be asked whether the state’s constitution should be amended to say there is no right to abortion ( ABC).

Google Employees Petition for Additional Abortion Benefits
This is a benefit the company is offering employees and they still demand more. Daily Wire: Over 650 Google employees signed a petition seeking more generous abortion tourism benefits from the technology company. Google Chief People Officer Fiona Cicconi told staff that the firm would cover out-of-state abortions and allow employees to “apply for relocation without justification.” Nevertheless, members of the Alphabet Workers Union endorsed a petition demanding that the company expand the benefits to temporary employees, vendors, and contractors. Among other policies, the petition calls for seven days of additional sick time “because workers will need to travel for significant periods to obtain health services,” greater travel reimbursements, and the end of political donations to lawmakers who oppose abortion ( Daily Wire). CNBC: And employees also asked the company to fix its search results for abortion services. Products like Google Maps have allegedly regularly led abortion seekers to pro-life religious centers ( CNBC).

Australian Parliament Votes to Exempt Christian Hospitals From Performing Abortions
Epoch Times: The parliament of the Australian state of Victoria has struck down a bill compelling all hospitals that receive state funding to provide access to abortion services and voluntary assisted dying. If the bill had passed, it would have compelled all hospitals, including those associated with religious organizations, to provide the said procedures to inquiring patients ( Epoch Times). Life News: Abortions are legal for any reason up to 24 weeks in Victoria and later in certain circumstances. Doctor-assisted suicide also is legal for people “in the late stages of advanced disease.” The law protects hospitals and medical workers from being forced to abort unborn babies or participate in assisted suicides in violation of their consciences. State parliament leaders agreed that those protections should remain in place ( Life News).

Ukraine Fears Russia is Attempting a False-Flag Operation, Turkey Publicly Supports Ukraine
NBC: Russia has allegedly told workers at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant not to show up to work Friday, Ukrainian military intelligence has exclusively confirmed to NBC News. This comes amid allegations and speculation from both Russia and Ukraine that an incident is being planned Friday at the plant ( NBC). New York Post: The order has sparked concern that Russian President Vladimir Putin may have plans for a so-called false flag operation, as the war enters its sixth month. Russia and Ukraine have been trading blame for recent shelling at the plant, which Russian forces seized in March and promptly began using as a military base. One of the plant’s six nuclear reactors was shut down two weeks ago after explosions took out an electrical transformer nearby. Neither side has claimed responsibility for the explosion. The United Nations’ atomic energy chief, Rafael Grossi, urged both sides to allow experts access to the plant to assess its safety last week. No agreement to that effect has been reached ( New York Post). Newsweek: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan publicly voiced support for Ukraine Thursday and expressed concern that shelling at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant could lead to “another Chernobyl” ( Newsweek).
