You saw how a professor changed Don's life.
Here's how he changed mine.
I never thought I'd be a professor of economics. But thanks to Don and the training I received from Mercatus I not only have a tenure-track job, but have already fought and won for better policy on Capitol Hill.
In 2016, just after I received my PhD, Don and I teamed up to research a proposed regulation from the Obama Department of Labor. We found they weren't acknowledging the negative effects the new regulation would have.
Most academics would just publish a paper and call it a day, but that's not the Mercatus way.
Instead, we took our research to the Hill, briefing lawmakers, publishing op-eds in influential outlets like the Wall Street Journal, and meeting directly with the regulators at the Department of Labor. At just 27 years old, I was side by side with Don at the White House fighting for policy based on better economic ideas. And thankfully, we won.
The kind of training I received is far too rare. With your support, it could be expanded to five new promising students next year. But only if you give.
