We are less than 12 weeks from the midterm elections. As a novelist, my life’s work has been crafting stories over hundreds of pages, but right now there’s just not enough time, so I’m cutting right to the chase: The GOP is trying to turn women into second-class citizens.

With Roe v. Wade gone, Republican extremists see an opportunity. While women across the country are outraged and afraid, Mitch McConnell is working overtime to claw his way back to the Majority Leader’s office so he can push a nationwide abortion ban. 

But McConnell and his radical right-wing cronies only win if we believe we are as meek as they want us to be. When we stand together and support fierce pro-choice leaders – leaders like my friend Maggie Hassan – we can fight back. 

But now more than ever, Maggie needs our help, which is why I’m asking you to rush $3 to her campaign today.
