When I was in Congress, I worked hard to pass meaningful legislation that would lower costs for our families, expand affordable healthcare access, and protect our small businesses. In doing this work, I always made an effort to reach across the aisle to find common ground to move forward stronger. There is far more that unites us than divides us.

With that being said, on August 23rd, there is a special election in the district I used to represent. And it is abundantly clear that only one candidate will work to represent us all with compassion and unity in mind. That person is Pat Ryan, and I am proud to be supporting him as he runs for Congress.

Pat is a fifth-generation Ulster County native running to represent the district he calls home. It’s where he grew up, where he opened his small business, and where he’s raising his family.

I know that Pat will be a strong advocate in Congress for the issues we care most about: passing gun safety legislation, protecting reproductive rights, lowering costs for families, and so much more.

Pat’s opponent in this race will work in lock-step with Kevin McCarthy and other House Republicans to obstruct progress. That’s not what we need during this time.

The special election to fill this seat is less than one week away and is very competitive. That’s why I’m asking you today:
