Anti-voter politicians who spread the ‘Big Lie’ and related election conspiracy theories are running in races up and down the ballot this year — some with the potential to oversee election certification and continue to deny election results if they don’t like them.

It’s alarming to see who’s on the ballot this fall after the recent primaries.
In Arizona, Mark Finchem is a QAnon-linked election conspiracy theorist who was at the Capitol on January 6 — now, he’s the GOP candidate for Secretary of State. If he wins, he’ll have control over voting in Arizona, a critical swing state. And if he loses, he’s already said he won’t concede.
In Pennsylvania, Doug Mastriano, another MAGA election conspiracy theorist, is running for governor. As governor, he’d be able to appoint the Secretary of the Commonwealth, which would give him power over voting systems. We already have a view into what his administration would look like: He’s pledged to require people to re-register to vote — an effort to make this fundamental freedom harder to access.
