Greetings friends of Bears Ears.
The summer is here, and climate change has manifested in record breaking heat, massive forest fires, and unprecedented floods across the continent. If we are committed to avoiding climate catastrophe, we need an approach that is time-tested, and the approach that has stood the test of time since time immemorial is Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK). With your help, we are working to ensure that TEK is the bedrock principle underpinning our plans to defend the planet and for protecting Indigenous homelands across (so called) North America.
Since our Spring newsletter, the Bears Ears Inter-Tribal Coalition (BEITC) has made remarkable progress. We want to thank you for the continued support and share some highlights of our recent success and other happenings with the Coalition. We are optimistic about the future of Bears Ears, and our commitment to uplifting Indigenous perspectives and knowledge is unwavered.
