We’re Counting On 33 Donors To Join Us Right Now To Unlock $5,000

For the past 40 years, the Clean Air Act (CAA) has quietly saved as many as 1.5 billion birds. But recently, the Supreme Court gutted the Environmental Protection Agency’s ability to regulate carbon pollution and respond to the threat of climate change—a decision which could undermine our nation’s bedrock environmental laws, including the CAA, and potentially limit the ability of federal agencies to respond to clear and present threats to birds and other wildlife.

There’s no time to wait and see for climate-vulnerable birds like the Scarlet Tanager. That’s why we’re asking dedicated bird lovers like you to start a monthly donation today. Thanks to a group of generous donors, your gift will help unlock an additional $5,000 for birds. So please, be one of 33 friends we need right away. ([link removed])

For decades, birds have been warning us about the dire consequences of climate change. At a time when we’ve lost 3 billion birds in the last 50 years—and two-thirds of North American species, including the Scarlet Tanager, are at increasing risk of extinction from climate change—the Supreme Court’s decision is especially devastating.

Yet Audubon will always be here to protect birds—today and tomorrow, no matter what happens. We advocate for legislation like the Inflation Reduction Act, a big deal for birds, and for you. The Inflation Reduction Act represents a major step forward in the effort to meet our climate goals and contains important initiatives like the extension and expansion of clean energy, the funding of climate-smart agriculture and resilience, and a focus on environmental and climate justice.

Will you join us in the fight to protect birds and the places they need? ([link removed])

We’ve spent the last century protecting birds using our proven combination of committed advocacy, empowering education, and expert on-the-ground conservation.

Whether it’s working to pass key legislation like the Neotropical Migratory Bird Conservation Act or advancing Natural Climate Solutions as a science-based approach to help restore and maintain natural ecosystems, none of our work is possible without people like you—people who care about birds and are ready to help.

With so much more to do, birds need you now more than ever. Will you please be the friend birds need today? When you make a monthly gift today, you’ll help unlock $5,000 more, thanks to a group of generous donors. ([link removed])

Sincerely,

National Audubon Society
