John,

Last year I attended the Field of Dreams game in Dyersville, Iowa. It’s the first Major League Baseball (MLB) game played in the state of Iowa. It is an amazing game and an experience that I will never forget.

Last week, they had the second Field of Dreams game, this time between the Cubs and the Reds, John!

As a baseball player and huge fan of the game, do you know what else I’d like to see? The end of MLB Blackouts here in Iowa.

So here I am at the Field of Dreams game proudly wearing my homemade End MLB Blackouts t-shirt 👇👇👇

Iowa doesn’t have a Major League Baseball team, yet we’re blacked out from seeing six different baseball teams. Cedar Rapids, the Quad Cities and Des Moines all have great baseball atmospheres, but we’re not allowed to watch the players who make it to the major leagues from the Kernels, River Bandits or the I-Cubs. If elected to the Iowa State House, I’m going to work to change this.

Baseball brings families and communities together. It lets kids dream, play and learn teamwork. It’s become part of the fabric of American life. Iowans shouldn’t be blacked out from watching certain games.

This is more than just about baseball. Twenty-four of the thirty MLB team owners are billionaires. These MLB policies are geared towards making these billionaires more money, then they are for the fans or to grow the game. This is about fairness and building strong communities.
