A McCarthy-aligned super PAC just released an ad that smears Mikie. Predictably, it couldn’t be further from the truth.
The facts tell a different story -- Mikie is taking action to lower costs:
- Mikie has fought to lift the SALT cap that was included in Trump’s 2017 tax bill and will keep working to find a way to yes. She led House passage of a bipartisan bill to end the harmful SALT cap.
- In fact, she beat back an eleventh-hour attempt from Republican Senator John Thune last weekend to extend the SALT cap as Republicans in Congress look to further punish New Jersey taxpayers. Mikie refused to go along and the effort was defeated.
- She voted for bills that will lower costs for New Jerseyans at the gas pump and grocery store, create jobs, boost domestic manufacturing, and bring supply chains back to the U.S.
- Mikie supports a measure to empower Medicare to negotiate lower drug prices. It would also create a fairer tax code.
Meanwhile, Washington Republicans released a plan that actually raises taxes on nearly half of middle-class Americans.
