This plan could push polar bears and endangered orcas closer to extinction. And it threatens the way of life of the Indigenous Gwich’in Nation, who consider the Refuge to be the sacred place where life begins. They have relied on the local Porcupine Caribou Herd for millennia -- which could be wiped out by Trump’s plan.
But now we have a chance to protect the Arctic Refuge forever! Progressive champions in Congress recently introduced a bill to permanently protect the Arctic Refuge from Big Oil.
