Border Chaos and the Catch-22 of Immigration Reform - Support for increasing legal immigration reduces when there is a perception of chaos caused by illegal immigration. This creates a policy Catch‐22 for American supporters of immigration reform: chaos and illegal immigration are caused by government restrictions on legal immigration, but it is difficult for policymakers to support immigration reform in the face of so much immigration-related chaos. Thus, U.S. immigration restrictions produce chaos, and the solutions required to reduce that chaos are politically difficult so long as the chaos remains... A concerted immigration enforcement effort combined with a significant increase of guest worker visas would dramatically and permanently reduce the border chaos.

Inflation Reduction Act - The so-called “Inflation Reduction Act,” will weaken American businesses, increase the costs of energy for families, hike taxes, and fund a new, 87,000-person strong IRS army to audit low-and-middle-income families.

The Texas Drought and the Guadalupe River - The Guadalupe River flows 230 miles from Hunt, Texas in Kerr County and winds its way to the San Antonio Bay at the Gulf of Mexico. Since March of this year, there has been a noticeable change in the water level of the river. There are areas of the Guadalupe River that are completely dry west of Canyon Lake. The Texas drought is reaching historic proportions and is impacting our state.  This drought brings about the threat of wildfires which we have already experienced.  According to the Texas A&M Forest Service as of August 16, 2022 there were 222 counties with a burn ban and there were several ACTIVE fires. There is only one thing to do: pray for the blessings of rain.
