In recent weeks, I’ve taken several steps to lower costs and ease the burden on families:
LOWERING RX DRUG PRICES & ENERGY COSTS
I helped pass the Inflation Reduction Act, and this week President Biden signed it into law. It’ll allow Medicare to negotiate lower prescription prices and extend subsidies for more affordable health care premiums. By investing in clean energy, we’ll not only reduce energy costs but also stay on track to our climate goals.
SHORTENING SUPPLY CHAINS
I voted to boost domestic manufacturing for semiconductor chips. That’s tech found in everything from our cell phones to our cars -- and it’s been hard to come by due to long overseas supply chains. This measure would bring our supply chains back to the U.S., make us more competitive, and create good-paying jobs creating this essential tech.
LOWERING PRICES AT THE GAS PUMP & GROCERY STORE
I voted to lower gas and grocery prices by sending much-needed support to farmers and our agriculture and meatpacking industries. It would also make a cheaper, cleaner gas option more available at gas stations.
HOLDING BIG OIL ACCOUNTABLE
I voted to crack down on Big Oil corporations that are gouging prices at the pump despite raking in record profits for their executives.
We’re seeing the result of our efforts. Our economy had 0% inflation last month as prices for gas, clothes, and airfare all went down. The unemployment rate is at its lowest in decades and more people are working than ever.
That’s what this job is all about: delivering results. I’m going to keep working to drive down costs and make life more affordable for Marylanders.

Dutch
