CT Parents Will Pay $168 More for School Supplies this Fall as Blumenthal Raises Taxes on the Middle Class
GREENWICH, CT - School is starting soon, and Connecticut parents are paying an extra $168 this year for school supplies. With inflation already squeezing budgets, families cannot afford out-of-touch career politicians raising taxes. Yet that is exactly what Dick Blumenthal did when he voted for Biden’s latest behemoth tax and spend bill to grow government, weaponize 87,000 new IRS agents against the American people, and raise taxes on the middle class.
U.S. Senate challenger and political outsider Leora Levy criticized this decision and promised to stand up for Connecticut families in the U.S. Senate:
“Life is becoming more unaffordable every day for Connecticut families, as government spending drives record inflation. Now, parents are facing higher prices for back-to-school supplies and wondering how to balance budgets as food and energy prices rise too. What does Dick Blumenthal do in response to these concerns? He pours gasoline on the fire by rubberstamping Biden’s latest tax and spend package that will do absolutely nothing to reduce inflation, while raising taxes and taking more from hardworking middle-class taxpayers.
“Connecticut families cannot afford more of the same from career politicians like Biden and Blumenthal who put politics before the people they serve. Connecticut is ready for change, and from day one in the U.S. Senate, I promise to stop the spending and champion smart economic policies that will not further cripple families or the U.S. economy. Together, we can stand up for Connecticut families, bring back American manufacturing and support our small businesses.”
