I’m starting to feel a little nervous about our fundraising numbers this month. That’s not great with our final end-of-quarter deadline before the primary at the end of this month.

Look, I’ve worked in fundraising for a number of years now, and it’s always difficult to raise money around the holidays. But this year, I’m feeling more urgent than ever.

Maybe it’s the late Thanksgiving making us feel like the holidays are upon us faster than ever. Then there’s also the presidential race heating up with so many candidates — meaning a lot more competition out there for attention.

I get how important all of that is, trust me. But I also know just how important it is that we elect Jessica and bring real Democratic leadership to South Texas.

This community deserves to have a representative who reflects their values and will put the needs of people first in Congress.

We know what it’s going to take to win, but first, we have to make sure we have the resources to compete. That’s why I’m laser-focused on hitting our goals.
