Dear Revealer,
To make a Reveal investigation, it takes a team of reporters, producers and editors, combing through hundreds of documents and datasets, conducting hours of interviews, and meticulously checking every fact. But when you support Reveal, you’re not only supporting that work – you’re helping to lay the foundation for everything that comes after.
Last month we published a major investigation about disproportionately high rates of injuries at Amazon warehouses. Getting this story required gathering internal injury logs for nearly two dozen fulfillment centers across 14 states through an Amazon employee crowdsourcing campaign. Since the story launched, we’ve heard from dozens more employees about their experiences, we’ve received records for even more fulfillment centers, and we’ve connected with numerous local journalists in areas where Amazon employees work. Now, our investigation is fueling more badly needed local journalism across the country.
It’s fueling impact too. A group of 13 members of Congress, including Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), have pressed the Department of Labor to investigate Amazon’s labor practices.
We’ll keep you updated on this investigation as we continue to unearth critical information. Our bottom line is the public interest, not profit. So we need you to help us keep doing what we do best: pursue important stories, bring hidden information to light and make sure that the facts we uncover are available to everyone – at no cost. Will you stand with us by becoming a monthly sustaining member today?
