Has someone said you or your Join us on: Saturday, September 10, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. In person (50 participants) Schedule ***** Kansas Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and related Disabilities (LEND) needs YOUR help to better understand the family perspective on finding and sustaining quality childcare for children with developmental disabilities. Kansas LEND is working on developing a Developmental Disability (DD) certificate for Childcare Providers in the state of Kansas. As we develop, we are reaching out to many stakeholders for input on what should be included in the trainings. Families know their children best and what they look for in a childcare provider. With that said we are asking you to participate in this very short survey. If your child is older now and no longer in daycare, please complete the survey while keeping in mind when they were in childcare (or of childcare age) and what you would have needed in a childcare provider. This year?s convention will focus less on vendors and more on agencies which serve blind/visually impaired Kansans exclusively and other state agencies which have a broader focus. This panel includes: Assistive Technology for Kansas, KS Commission on Disability Concerns, Vocational Rehabilitation Services, and KS Youth Empowerment Academy. Each of you will have 30 minutes to present with a 10-minute time for questions. (Hopefully, this year?s audience won?t be so bashful.) Thank you for your interest in our 17th annual Kansas Housing Conference. When we began planning this event last year, we were facing a number of uncertainties with the public health situation. We chose to offer our first-ever hybrid conference to address this uncertainty, allowing a safe option for those who prefer not to attend in-person events, as well as a backup plan in the event that community spread made an in-person conference unfeasible. With the conference just a few weeks away, most industry and community events have transitioned back to an in-person format with few, if any, restrictions. We?re pleased that the availability of vaccines and precautions such as masking have allowed us to resume our business largely as usual, and that we can once again connect with our stakeholders face to face instead of through screens. We?ve missed these opportunities over the last two years and are eager to be with our partners and colleagues again. At the same time, we?re also weighing the logistics involved in offering a virtual agenda, including a complex technical setup, significant additional expense, and extra staffing responsibilities. When we opened registration for our first in-person conference in three years, we were unsure what kind of response to expect. We are heartened to discover that the vast majority of our registrants are just as eager to return to an in-person event as we are. The number of in-person registrants has far exceeded our virtual registrants, rendering the significant expense and effort required in offering a virtual agenda unfeasible. Ultimately, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the virtual portion of our agenda, as it is not cost-effective to go to so much additional expense and effort for such a limited number of virtual attendees. While we regret the inconvenience this causes, our commitment to be responsible stewards of KHRC funds has necessitated this shift. We understand that this change brings interruption to your plans, and we sincerely apologize for that. In return, we are offering our virtual registrants two options: ? Cancel your conference registration and receive a full refund; ? Transfer your virtual registration to an in-person registration at no charge. In the event that you are unavailable to attend in person, you may designate a colleague or representative to attend on your behalf, free of charge. Please provide us the substitute registrant's email address and mobile number to transfer registrations. Please contact our team at [email protected] to notify us of your decision, and we will coordinate next steps accordingly.
