For far too long, Republicans have tried to claim the mantle of patriotism.

They have tarred and smeared Veteran candidates (Swift Boat Veterans) and tried to make service synonymous with conservatism.

They do it not because they care about service or taking care of Veterans — just look at the PACT Act.

They do it because they see an electoral advantage in doing so.

Well, forget that.

VoteVets was started in part to reclaim that.

Democrats support Veterans by opposing forever wars and providing them the care they deserve.

Democrats love this country and fight for it daily by making it a better, safer, more prosperous place for EVERYONE.

And it is Democratic Veterans helping lead the way. Think Tammy Duckworth. Think Pete Buttigieg. Think Ruben Gallego, Elaine Luria, Ted Lieu, Mark Kelly and more.

Patriotism. Service. Love of country.

Those are not just Republican values. And part of what VoteVets is doing is fighting to take those back.

But we cannot do it alone.
