John,
“Back to School” means even more when your education was interrupted by exploitation and trafficking. For youth who’ve struggled due to their exploitation, there may be anxiety about starting another school year – ending the summer is a time when statistically, many teens may drop out of school forever. When a survivor is wondering, “What if I don't succeed?” Your donations ensure that fear is met by somebody who encourages them: “You can do this! …and we're going to be here for you.”
Education is a major focus of our Survivor Care program. Your support provides fierce advocacy for survivors: Attending parent-teacher meetings; helping navigate needed services; supporting educators to adapt to the needs of survivors; and providing necessary back to school supplies.
Your donation ensures youth in our Survivor Care have things like a backpack, basic school supplies, and even clothes because kids grow and deserve to start the year in clothes that fit and feel good.
