News from Congresswoman Kathy Manning

Dear John,

Recently, I conducted a survey asking over 200,000 constituents in North Carolina's Sixth District one simple question: "Should Congress pass legislation to protect access to contraception?"

The overwhelming response in favor of this action made one thing clear: I must work in Congress to protect contraception for the women and girls in my district.

That's why, I introduced the Right to Contraception Act - legislation that enshrines the right to access contraception into federal law.

I'm proud to say that my bill PASSED the United States House of Representatives with strong Democratic support and eight Republicans voting in favor. Click here to read my opinion piece on the Right to Contraception Act.

My legislation is critical to protecting women's reproductive rights and health.
