[email protected] REPUBLICAN WHIP STEVE SCALISE ENDORSES FRANK PALLOTTA FOR CONGRESS All Eyes on Pallotta/Gottheimer Rematch as New Jersey’s Fifth District Poised to Flip RAMSEY, N.J. – August 18, 2022 – House Republican Whip Steve Scalise today announced his endorsement of businessman Frank Pallotta in his race against incumbent Democrat Congressman Josh Gottheimer. The endorsement comes on the heels of revelations of alleged insider trading by Rep. Gottheimer where both the incumbent Congressman and the husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi engaged in suspect trades ahead of a Congressional vote on legislation to increase semiconductor chip manufacturing. "Taking back the House and putting a check on Joe Biden’s disastrous policies requires firing politically-entrenched Josh Gottheimer—and runs right through New Jersey’s Fifth District. Our Republican Conference will benefit tremendously from Frank’s outsider expertise in finance and running a small business, as well as his deep ties to the district,” said Whip Scalise. “I couldn’t be prouder to endorse Frank Pallotta for Congress, to bring back common-sense leadership to North Jersey—to take on inflation, lower your taxes, expand American energy, and make Jersey communities safer." Just last week, Congressman Gottheimer abandoned his pledge to voters to not vote for an economic relief package that did not eliminate the SALT deduction. The reversal of his vow “No SALT No Deal!” demonstrates Mr. Gottheimer's unyielding loyalty to Washington liberals like Speaker Pelosi over the middle-class residents of Northern New Jersey. “I am grateful to Congressman Scalise for his support and commitment to this race. I plan to bring my business sense to Washington and advocate for solutions that benefit the residents of Bergen, Sussex, and Passaic counties,” said Mr. Pallotta. “That means standing up against onerous taxes; turning our economy around; and protecting residents against a surge in crime caused by left-wing attacks on our police. Josh Gottheimer showed his true colors by bowing to pressure from Nancy Pelosi and failing to eliminate the SALT cap. Any real leader would have held up the bill until the cap was eliminated. Josh Gottheimer doesn’t have the guts to effectively represent us in Washington. Period.” This year’s 2022 rematch between Republican businessman Frank Pallotta and career bureaucrat Josh Gottheimer is one of the most closely watched House races in the nation after Mr. Pallotta came within single digits of unseating Mr. Gottheimer in the last election. ### Visit Our Website Pallotta For Congress | PO Box 817, Ramsey, NJ 07446 Unsubscribe
