Calling all LGBTQ+ Students (Plus Parents and Teachers) Parents, educators AND students... this email is for you!Summer is almost over and students across the country are returning to school. The start of a new school year can feel wild, but it is also a critical time for setting a tone of inclusion in classrooms and schools. As educators, it is our responsibility to ensure that all of our students feel heard, valued, and safe. Organizations like the It Gets Better Project (along with its diverse educational materials) have proven invaluable in my work with students and families both queer and otherwise. It Gets Better Project resources have helped spark important conversations, build unforeseen bridges, and even instill hope. I encourage you to explore and take advantage of as many of these resources as you can, and to the LGBTQ+ students reading this, I hope that you have a safe and smooth beginning of the school year.
