Team — When the United States Supreme Court ruled in 2015 that marriage equality is a fundamental right for every couple, it was the culmination of decades of hard work from activists fighting for equal rights.
But this year has proven that marriage equality is not settled. In fact, here in Wisconsin, the Republican candidate for governor still opposes same-sex marriage.
Even though the majority of Americans support marriage equality, there are still candidates running to take away this right. Not to mention, Justice Clarence Thomas called for Obergefell v. Hodges, the landmark decision that protected the right to marriage equality, to be “reconsidered.”
For years, Tammy has led the way in fighting for LGBTQ rights, and that work continues as she works to pass the Respect for Marriage Act in the Senate. She is working across the aisle to get this crucial legislation across the finish line and protect the right to marry the person you love.
Add your name to our petition today to join Tammy in supporting federal legislation that protects the right to same-sex marriage. We can’t let an ultra-conservative Supreme Court or candidate for governor take us back in time.
Thank you. Tammy won’t stop working until LGBTQ rights are protected by federal law.
