Joy was first sold to her trafficker at age 12. She came to our care after years of abuse and exploitation. We saw Joy aggressively reclaim her childhood and future.
She re-entered school years behind, but caught up quickly. She was passionate about helping other children. She also had a fire in her to see justice for her perpetrators — and they were put behind bars thanks in part to her brave testimony.
After four years in our care, she moved forward and stayed in touch. Today, she has a family of her own and is working professionally as a caregiver for children recovering from abuse. In fact, she's currently supporting a child as they file a case against the perpetrator.
