When I woke up this morning, I knew I had to reach out to you for two key reasons, John.

First, thanks to your help and thanks to folks across eastern Connecticut, we were able to reach our general election kickoff goal. I truly can’t thank you enough for giving my campaign the momentum it needs to win in November. Together, our grassroots team will ensure the radical right never gets its hands on our communities.

Second, today marks just 83 days until Election Day. 83 will always be an important number to me, because when I first ran for Congress in 2006, I won by just 83 votes – the tightest House race that year! If that doesn’t prove that every single vote matters, I don’t know what will.

That 2006 election proves why we can’t afford to take our foot off the gas. This year’s election looks like it could be even closer, so it’s critical that we have the resources to meet with voters, run ads, and fight back against my radical opponent’s attacks. If there is any amount you can chip in to help us stay on the path to victory, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you for helping me fight to keep eastern Connecticut blue. I know that in 83 days, we will once and for all be able to prove to Kevin McCarthy and the radical right that eastern Connecticut isn’t up for grabs.
