We must stand up to protect reproductive rights. This week, I joined a coalition of attorneys general to support the DOJ’s lawsuit against Idaho’s new near-total abortion ban.
Idaho’s abortion ban is dangerous and wrong. This new ban does not have safeguards for lifesaving care to protect the health of pregnant people. This is a clear violation of federal law.
Not only is this ban illegal — it will harm Washingtonians. Our residents who cross the border as students or visitors will be denied healthcare they are legally entitled to if they have a medical emergency. It also will put an enormous strain on healthcare clinics in Washington, as Idahoans are forced to travel farther from home and cross the border to seek necessary and often lifesaving abortion care.
If you support my fight to protect abortion care, can you make a contribution of $10 or more today?
I am proud of the work we have done in Washington to secure abortion access. I will continue to use every legal tool at my disposal to protect those seeking and providing reproductive medical care. But as more states ban abortion and put in place restrictive laws, our clinics become overburdened.
One clinic in Eastern Washington reported that 78% of its patients in July were from Idaho. That’s almost twice as many as a year ago.
Help me continue standing up against anti-abortion policies not just in Washington, but everywhere I can. Can you make a contribution of $10 or more to stand with me?
Thank you,
Bob
