After weeks of devastating testimony and evidence from the January 6th Committee, we’ve wondered when the Department of Justice would finally bring charges against Trump for his role in inciting the January 6th insurrection. Apparently, we’re not the only ones.

This week, Trump asserted that he has “absolute immunity” to all civil suits resulting from his actions on January 6th, thanks to executive privilege.

The United States is a nation of laws, and Trump is about to learn that the hard way. It’s the very foundation of our Constitution. If Trump is determined to avoid accountability for inciting an insurrection, maybe he should try to argue that he’s innocent instead.
