John,

Welcome to the latest edition of our campaign newsletter! Jamie has been hard at work crisscrossing the district to hear directly from Oregon families, farmers, and small business owners. Connecting with folks to better understand the issues impacting our daily lives has been a privilege for our whole campaign, and we look forward to meeting even more people as our campaign ramps up even further.

With election forecasters and polls calling our race one of the most competitive in the country, we're so grateful to have your support in the final months of this campaign.

Below you’ll find a roundup of all the latest news from the campaign trail. Things are moving quickly, so you can also follow Jamie on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to stay up-to-date.

Thanks for all you do.

ICYMI: Oregonian Letter to the Editor in Support of Jamie

“When I hear radical MAGA supporters in state legislatures want to intrude into my bedroom and my personal medical decisions, I become alarmed. There are women who may not be able to receive cancer treatments because of abortion laws, could face restrictions on their access to contraception and who may have restrictions on their movement across state lines….Jamie McLeod-Skinner, candidate for Oregon’s 5th Congressional District, will fight for our ability to make decisions about our own bodies. Her opponent supports the extremist GOP agenda and will continue to force her way into my family conversations and my bedroom.” – Elizabeth Luthy, Aug. 12, 2022, The Oregonian

Endorsement Roundup

EMILY’s List + Planned Parenthood Action Fund + NARAL Pro-Choice America
This election will decide the future of reproductive freedom in our country, so it’s never been more urgent that we elect pro-choice leaders who will codify and protect our right to choose. Three major pro-choice organizations endorsed Jamie’s campaign for Congress because they know that Jamie is the clear choice in this race who will fight for Oregonians’ fundamental personal freedoms in Congress.

Pineros y Campesinos Unidos del Noroeste (PCUN)
Jamie was also endorsed by PCUN, the largest Latino union in Oregon that is working to advocate for Oregon farmworkers and Latino families. The issues that farmworkers are facing are personal for Jamie. She’s committed to advancing PCUN’s shared priorities like affordable housing, a livable wage, and expanding health care for children to support Oregon’s underrepresented immigrant and farmworker communities.

Patriotic Millionaires
Patriotic Millionaires, a nonprofit organization working to fight for a livable wage and combat income inequality, also announced their endorsement of Jamie’s campaign. Jamie knows the struggles of working families first hand – she’s proud to receive this support and continue working to change the systems and ensure big corporations pay their fair share.

National Nurses United
National Nurses United, with more than 175,000 members nationwide, is the largest union and professional association of registered nurses in U.S. history has endorsed Jamie in this race. Jamie believes that everyone should have access to quality health care and that we owe every nurse a debt of gratitude for their service. Ensuring this right will be a priority for her in Congress.
That’s all for this edition! Keep up with all of the latest updates on the trail by following Jamie on social media: Thanks for being on our team!
