Our campaign has faced a number of challenges in our efforts to keep Jamaal in Congress. From an unprecedented redistricting disaster that forced us to reorganize our entire outreach strategy, to a delayed congressional election pushed into August, to a GOP-funded opposition working to replace our progressive voice with corporate conservative representation — we've overcome a lot as a grassroots campaign.
It's my job to keep an open ear out for the political chatter throughout the district. I'm in frequent discussion with local electeds, democratic clubs and activist circles — and we know this election cycle is one of the most competitive we've seen in years. Earlier this month, Jamaal's fellow Justice Democrat Ilhan Omar won her election by an extremely narrow margin — and she didn't run any TV ads. That is why our strategy involves being up on TV in the final days, so our opponents do not have the opportunity to drown out our progressive message.
Now more than ever, we need to galvanize the resources to push our campaign message as far as we can before the polls close. We know that this ad's message is effective, and that it resonates with voters. A TV ad may only be 30 seconds, but those 30 seconds could be the difference between us winning or losing this election.
