** Friend, it's back-to-school time.
------------------------------------------------------------
August can be complicated for LGBTQ young people. Many see this time of year as exciting, still many others attribute back-to-school time with anxiety and concern. Too many schools don’t have the resources LGBTQ young people need. But thanks to your support, The Trevor Project serves as a resource for those LGBTQ youth.
How can you help? Be open and accepting of the LGBTQ youth in your life. Voice your support for policies that embrace LGBTQ students. Speak out against anti-LGBTQ rhetoric and legislation.
The impact of affirming adults and spaces is huge. Our research shows that when LGBTQ young people have one affirming space and/or one accepting adult in their lives, they are significantly less likely to consider suicide.
