Port of Tacoma commission meeting on Thursday, Aug. 18, 12 p.m.
The August 18 Port commission meeting begins at noon in Room 104 of the Fabulich Center, 3600 Port of Tacoma Road. The meeting will be streamed live [ [link removed] ] on the Port’s website and archived for later viewing. Public comment may be given in-person at the meeting or sent by email to:

RTGs at Husky
Husky Terminal receives four new RTGs
The Husky Terminal at the Port of Tacoma recently received four new diesel hybrid rubber-tired container gantry cranes (RTGs). These RTGs are taller than their existing ones and will allow them to stack containers one additional row higher, densifying cargo operations and thereby increasing throughput capacity of the terminal.

Shorepower at Husky
Shore power installation at Husky Terminal
Installation of shore power infrastructure at Husky terminal begins later this month. Shore power allows ships shut off their engines and to plug into electricity while at dock, reducing vessel air emissions.
