Dear Friend, For struggling parents and children, home visiting programs are more than a resource – they’re a ladder out of poverty. Just ask Diana, a young mom of three. A home visitor has been guiding her family’s journey from the start. Years ago, they were struggling to share a single bedroom in Diana’s mother’s house. Today, they’re thriving in their dream home. Friend, home visiting services transform futures, empowering families with the tools they need to survive and thrive. They helped Diana achieve her financial goals, establish an early learning routine and give her kids the strongest possible start in life. Send a message to Congress: reauthorize and increase funding for the Maternal, Infant and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) program to help children and families thrive! MIECHV supports families in at-risk communities across the nation, providing them with the education and resources they need to overcome poverty, unemployment, hunger, limited access to health care and other dire challenges. In 2020, MIECHV reached 140,000 parents and kids with life-changing support – but they represent less than five percent of families eligible to receive this assistance. Tell Congress: if we hope to protect America’s hardest-to-reach kids, we must renew MIECHV, expand access and increase funding before it expires. Thank you for being a voice for kids, |
