Dear
Reader,
In 1984, Richard John Neuhaus wrote that “culture is the root of politics, and religion is the root of culture.”

If we take these words of our founder to be true, what happens to a culture that is rooted in a false religion?

Put simply, it dies. On September 19, contributing editor Carl R. Trueman will take up this theme, giving our 2022 Austin Lecture on “The Sentimental Death of a Culture.”

Thanks to our co-sponsor the Center for Christian Studies, we are pleased to offer complimentary tickets to this public lecture, which will be hosted at the University Avenue Church of Christ (1903 University Avenue, Austin, TX 78705).
