John – Jamaal Bowman is under attack, and we’re calling on our movement to have his back.
 
Take a look at this mailer recently sent out by one of Jamaal’s Democratic primary opponents. They artificially darkened Jamaal’s skin color in a blatantly racist attempt to fearmonger about his service in Congress.

Just to make it crystal clear how much they altered this photo, here’s a gif comparing the original photo in normal lighting with the artificially darkened photo used by Jamaal’s opponent:

It’s telling that a Democrat feels comfortable deploying this Republican-style, incendiary, racist tactic against an unapologetically progressive Black leader like Jamaal.
 
It’s also not the first time Brand New Congress has seen something like this. In 2020, Cori Bush’s Democratic opponent used the identical tactic on a mailer attacking her character.
 
Brand New Congress helped Cori fight back and win, and now we need to have Jamaal’s back, too. Can you rush a split contribution between his campaign and BNC right now to help us reelect Jamaal?

John, these tactics are shocking but not surprising. In 2020, a super PAC ran ads that were so racist against Jamaal that the former incumbent had to disavow them. Now, those who want to unseat Jamaal are up to the same disgusting tricks.
 
Jamaal's policies and his advocacy for working people are popular, so his opponents have turned to bigotry in a desperate attempt to win. Take a look at what Jamaal had to say:
