Hey friends – did you know I was born in the South? I’m not talking about Southern states like Florida or Texas, even further South than that!
I was born in South America to American parents, and my time there has shaped my life considerably.
I want to tell you all about my upbringing and how it impacts my life as a Congressman today, but before I go on, could you chip in $10 or whatever you can to my re-election campaign? Every cent goes toward keeping CT-04 blue.

Way back in 1966, I was born in Lima, Peru and eventually we moved to Colombia. Let’s just say my early childhood was unique, informative, and chaotic all at the same time.
Even though I’ve lived here most of my life, my Spanish is still pretty darn good!
The experience of being raised in such a different place taught me a lot about our unique position in the world. Even as a Congressman, I find that the languages, cultures, and communities I was surrounded by give me a different perspective from many of my colleagues.
Before I finished grade school, though, I moved to the United States and set my roots here in America. After all, Peru is beautiful, but nothing compares to a Connecticut beach in the summer!
I’m in Congress to reach bipartisan solutions to the problems that affect us every day. And for over ten years, I’ve brought my uncommon perspective to the table in Washington. Will you chip in $10 to help me continue delivering results for my community?

I'll always stand up for Connecticut.
