You’ve heard it all throughout this primary season, John.
How billionaire-funded Super PACs have been flooding Democratic primaries across the country with obscene amounts of money to drown out the grassroots campaigns of progressive champions.
Now in New York, this wave of outside spending has plunked down on WFP-endorsed candidate for Congress in New York’s 17th district, Alessandra Biaggi — a powerhouse leader in the progressive movement who’s standing up to the entrenched network of power and wealth embodied by her opponent Sean Patrick Maloney, who happens to also be the ringleader of the DCCC.
But despite facing a rolling sea of dark money, our movement for a world transformed — in which we invest in the working people of this country — has her back.
Alessandra just secured a huge endorsement from Cynthia Nixon, who joins a growing list of grassroots leaders and organizations across New York that support her campaign. And tonight at 8PM, together with Cynthia, the New York Progressive Action Network, and others, we’re co-hosting an event in support of Alessandra Biaggi's grassroots campaign for Congress in New York's 17th district.

So far, our movement has shown that people power can defeat corporate cash. In states where big money forces spent an eye-popping amount of money to defeat progressives, we saw corporate cash thwarted by working people’s ambition for a future in which their interests are put first.
And that’s why in New York, Alessandra is undeterred by the deck of Big Money spending stacked against her.
Over the last few weeks, Alessandra and her team of supporters have been making phone calls, sending texts, and knocking on doors to have one-on-one conversations with voters on the issues that matter most to them — from the affordability of housing and healthcare in the city, to attacks on reproductive rights and the climate crisis.
And she’s done it all without taking a dime of corporate money. RSVP now to join us tonight, Tuesday, August 16th at 8:00PM EST via Zoom for our event in support of Alessandra Biaggi’s campaign for Congress in New York's 17th district against corporate Democrat and DCCC chair, Sean Patrick Maloney.

Once you RSVP, you will receive a Zoom link to join the event, where we’ll discuss pressing issues like women’s rights, the need for big, bold legislation that meets the urgency of this moment, and how Alessandra plans on transforming the political landscape in New York.
We hope that you’ll join us,
