I'm A Hot Mess At A Lot Of Things, But Breastfeeding Came Easily To Me

It’s National Breastfeeding Month, and today we’ve got a fun piece from Samm D. about how she’s struggled with plenty of things over the course of her life — but nursing became her superpower.

She writes: “For me, breastfeeding was pretty uncomplicated. This is not meant to be a brag, as I have found myself to be an incapable hot mess in other areas of my life. But here, I shined. And my tiny tatas — the ones I cursed for so long as they sat flat on my chest while the other girls flaunted their curves and cleavage — became my most worthy asset. Normally self-conscious about my body, I became fearless.”

It’s a nice piece about how sometimes, you find your strengths where you least expect them.

From The Confessional: Your Money Secrets

Today’s roundup from the Scary Mommy Confessional has a very touchy theme: money. “Every time I go to the grocery store, I take out $50 extra with my debit card. I use the money on shoes my husband would never approve of,” admits one mom; another says, “I just paid off 20K in credit card debt that my DH had no idea about. Determined to NEVER let that happen again. The guilt was awful.” If you’ve got a confession to make — anonymously, of course — please tell all through the link here.
