Hi — moments ago, President Biden signed the Inflation Reduction Act into law. We’ve won the largest victory ever to address the climate crisis!
This victory means more to me than I could have ever imagined. We’re seeing our world change right before our eyes, and it’s been really scary.
This new law finally gives us hope for our future. We now have the resources to cut planet-warming pollution roughly 40% by 2030 and protect our communities from future devastation.
Really, we wouldn’t be here today without you. Every Conservation Voters of PA member has contributed to this victory in some way – whether you sent emails or made phone calls to lawmakers, talked with your family and friends about why you care about climate change, or donated to support our work, we got this bill passed because we all came together and never gave up. Thank you for everything you did to help protect our children’s future.
Of course, this bill also wouldn’t be passed without the votes of so many members of Pennsylvania’s congressional delegation. Our pro-environment members of Congress were forced to compromise on a lot of policies that so many of us support, but they fought really hard and kept their focus on winning a package that will help millions of hard-working American families.
Today I’m calling every one of our members of Congress who voted yes. Your message to our federal champions would go such a long way in keeping the momentum going.
Please send a message to your members of Congress whose votes made the Inflation Reduction Act possible. [

TAKE ACTION: [link removed]]

While this deal is not perfect and there are elements we wish were not in the bill, it’s clear that we need solutions now.
Forest fires and superstorms are destroying communities, leaving families homeless, and costing people their lives. Heat waves are forcing low-income families to scramble for ways to cool down and keep safe. Air pollution is contributing to skyrocketing rates of asthma in our kids, with kids in communities of color and low-income communities impacted at greater rates.
We can’t live like this for much longer. Thankfully, the Inflation Reduction Act will create changes that will drastically reduce our carbon emissions in less than 10 years – reductions that will help us protect the future for our children and grandchildren.
I am so thankful for what we’ve accomplished together. Of course, it’s just the start. States and local leaders must continue to pass laws to further lower our carbon emissions. But I know we can do it.
Let’s make today about gratitude - gratitude for a hopeful future and gratitude to everyone who made this possible. Please take a minute to thank your members of Congress who voted yes on the Inflation Reduction Act. [[link removed]]
Thank you for everything that you do.
