Dear John,
There has been a lot going on lately, so I wanted to be sure to share these updates with you. Here are some things I’ve been focusing on recently:
1. On Friday, I voted for the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022. The IRA will reduce inflation, cut the deficit, lower healthcare costs, create new jobs for thousands of Americans, and combat climate change. This bill will bring relief to American families across the nation, secure our economy, and improve the future of our country.
2. I was named Legislator of the Year by the National Association of Farm Service Agency County Office Employees. I’m honored to be their Legislator of the Year, and will continue to support federal agriculture programs and FSA efforts.
3. I spoke to the Albany Rotary Club about important projects I am focused on funding in the upcoming fiscal year. I plan on bringing broadband to rural areas, communication equipment to local counties, funding for the Rosalynn Carter Institute for Caregivers for Alzheimer's, investments in water plants and infrastructure, and support for local law enforcement.
4. The Cybersecurity Opportunity Act, which I co-sponsored, was signed into law. This bill, part of the CHIPS and Sciences Act, establishes the “Dr. David Satcher Cybersecurity Education Grant Program,” which will expand cybersecurity education and boost job opportunities at HBCUs in Georgia.
Throughout my time in office, I have continuously delivered for the people of Middle and Southwest Georgia. I hope to continue to do so, but I’m facing a tough race in the upcoming midterms. Can you chip in $25 today to support my re-election campaign so I can continue fighting for Georgia’s 2nd Congressional District?
Sincerely,
Congressman Sanford D. Bishop
