The midterm election — just twelve weeks away — will not only determine the control of the Senate and House; Maryland voters will also decide who will be our next Governor and who will represent us in other key state offices.
Maryland Democrats had many strong candidates for Governor and Lt. Governor in the Primary and all of them have enthusiastically united behind our excellent nominees: Wes Moore and Aruna Miller. They have a vision for Maryland worthy of our great state, which is known as “America in Miniature” because of the wonderful diversity of our geography and our people.
We cannot take anything for granted in this election. The Republican candidate for Governor was endorsed by Donald Trump and represents his poisonous approach to politics. We must send a resounding message in November that Trumpism has no place here.

The Maryland statewide races represent a clear showdown between a positive vision of an inclusive state that strives to create greater opportunity for all and the anti-democratic vitriol and lies of Donald Trump.
I am looking forward to running on the Democratic ticket with Wes Moore and Aruna Miller, as well as our other statewide nominees — Anthony Brown for Attorney General and Brooke Lierman for Comptroller. To win, we must reach voters in every corner of the state — from mountain Maryland to the Delmarva peninsula and everywhere in-between.
