Can you believe we’re already halfway through August, John? Our team could hardly believe that summer is almost over as we were pulling this monthly update together. In it, you’ll find updates on what’s happening in our party, including key primary elections and all the organizing WFP members are doing to build a better future for our country.
THE WFP WINNING STREAK CONTINUES
In last month’s newsletter, we covered some major WFP wins out of California, New York, Illinois, and Colorado. We’re thrilled to share that our winning streak has continued in a score of states including Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Missouri:
In case you missed it, Mandela Barnes won his primary in Wisconsin to take on Senator Ron Johnson in November! Barnes is a long-time WFP ally, and our organizers and volunteers put in the work across Wisconsin. Not only is Mandela our best option at unseating dumpster-fire GOP Senator Ron Johnson, but this is also one of our best opportunities to add another Democrat to the U.S. Senate who will abolish the filibuster once and for all — finally allowing us to pass necessary legislation like codifying abortion rights into law.
In Minnesota, Michigan, and Missouri, three members of The Squad — Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, and Cori Bush — won their primaries. Their voices are vital to our work and the progressive movement. We're looking forward to seeing them back on the House floor in November!
Despite this recent winning streak, we cannot become complacent. Powerful forces will always try to defeat our people-powered movement. Shady super PACs and billionaires have already been spending millions of dollars against our opponents — and they’re not going to stop just because we won a few primaries.
Their fear of working people being represented in Congress must motivate us. Because we know that if we keep showing up and doing the work to out-organize special interests, we will keep winning and keep building a Working Families Majority.
Can you make a donation of $6 today to help fund our candidates upcoming primaries? If we’re going to build a Working Families Majority, we need support from real working people like you.

WFP VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT
Nadine Machicote (Milwaukee, WI)
I've been volunteering with WIWFP for almost a year, really focused on in person community events across Milwaukee where we have an opportunity to talk to voters about Mandela.
I am happy to say that my journey with the Working Families Party has been nothing short of amazing. It feels great to march with a group of amazing supporters of Democracy and candidates like Mandela Barnes and other Democratic Leaders whom I believe are the perfect choice to get the job done and make the necessary changes for families like mine and others whose needs are not being met.
