Hi John,

I’m the daughter of Cuban exiles, a cancer survivor, and a small business owner. And I want to tell you more about why I’m in this fight to represent our community in the State Senate.

At age 28, I was diagnosed with stage four cancer that was supposed to be incurable. I know what it’s like to receive a $30,000 medical bill in the mail, and I’ve seen firsthand the problems within our healthcare system.

I want to make sure that EVERYONE in our community and our state can seek medical treatment without having to worry that they may go bankrupt by doing so.

When I had my daughter, that changed my life, and I can’t leave this world without saying that I tried to make it better for our children and their generation.

My experiences have shaped who I am today. As a small business owner of a health insurance company, I’m uniquely qualified to sit down at the table and have meaningful conversations about how we can improve access to healthcare for ALL Floridians.

I’ve seen both sides of this issue – as someone who works in the healthcare industry and as a cancer patient – and I know what needs to be done to help the people in our community.
