On *Tuesday*, Governor DeWine spoke at the Ohio Contractors Association Winter Conference about the importance of building a stronger and safer transportation system throughout Ohio. He also received an industry award for his advocacy in promoting construction and roadway safety throughout Ohio.

On *Tuesday* and*Wednesday*, Governor DeWine sat down with various TV stations to discuss his first year serving as Ohio's governor.

On *Tuesday*, Lt. Governor Jon Husted convened the Governors Executive Workforce Board where American Electric Power and Columbus State discussed the success being achieved by the launch of the new Office of Workforce Innovation. The Lt. Governor and Jobs and Family Services Director Kim Hall also announced the launch of the updated In-Demand Jobs List for Ohio [ [link removed] ], which is now housed on the InnovateOhio Platform, which allows it to display as an interactive online dashboard as opposed to a simple PDF. On *Wednesday*, Lt. Governor Husted delivered the keynote address at the Blockland conference in Cleveland. The organization exists to educate and promote real-world blockchain applications, while establishing and leading a blockchain ecosystem with support from private, public, and philanthropic individuals and organizations. The Lt. Governor talked about how blockchain technology might help improve efficiencies and services within the state government. The InnovateOhio Executive Committee also convened at the conference.

On *Thursday,*Governor DeWine signed two bills: Senate Bill 5, which strengthens penalties for those convicted of promoting prostitution; and Senate Bill 77, which designates June 12 as Women Veteran's Day.

On *Thursday*, Lt. Governor Husted, along with Higher Education Chancellor Randy Gardner, traveled to Dayton, Ohio, where they announced a $20 million investment in scholarships [ [link removed] ] to support students seeking training in computer science. The new scholarship, housed within the Choose Ohio First program, will strengthen the states workforce in technology-related fields such as coding and cybersecurity while supporting an estimated 1,400 Ohio students.

On *Friday*, Lt. Governor Husted traveled to Youngstown where he announced the expansion of the Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) Get in Line Online system, which allows Ohioans to check in to the BMV before arriving to save time. InnovateOhio is coordinating the expansion of the program, which the administration launched as a pilot program [ [link removed] ] in June 2019, statewide through mid-2020. Through the 13 pilot locations, Ohioans have already saved 6,000 hours of time waiting in line at the BMV.
