Camp Prosperity is back again this year with a 3-part learning event to help you sharpen your advocacy skills to more effectively champion the needs of your community. The first session was on held July 23 and explored how nonprofits can engage in advocacy. The next two upcoming sessions will cover Race, Data, and the Story of Your Community on Tuesday July 30 and Building Your Coalition for 2020 and Beyond on Tuesday August 6. Goodbye from Baridilo

Hi everyone! My last day with the Affordable Homeownership team at Prosperity Now is Thursday 7/25. I was placed here for five months as an Emerson National Hunger Fellow (an anti-hunger and anti-poverty fellowship). Through the team I have been able to learn more about the I’M HOME Network, help with I’M HOME conference planning, and write blogs about how manufactured housing can be part of the solution to our nation’s housing needs. It has been so wonderful working and learning with you all! Farewell!

News Researchers Examine Affordability of Manufactured Homes [[link removed](memo_072219)]

Noah Durst from Michigan State University and longtime friend of I'M HOME, Esther Sullivan from the University of Colorado Denver, have recently published new research on manufactured housing affordability. They found key differences between manufactured home residents who own both the land and the home, those who own the home but rent the land and those who rent both the home and land. This article in TIME explores yet another angle to the issue of private investment in manufactured home communities by exploring how some companies are buying communities in post-disaster areas to take advantage of depreciated land values. Policy Manufactured Housing Bills Introduced and Enacted in June 2019 [[link removed]]

The 2019 state policy year continued its usual summer slowdown as more state legislative sessions close. Just 13 manufactured housing bills were enacted in June across 5 states with Oregon claiming the largest share followed by Delaware and Nevada.
