John: During his time as Postmaster General, Louis DeJoy – the final relic of the Trump administration – has weathered a practically endless onslaught of scandal after scandal.
He intentionally slowed down USPS delivery times DURING a pandemic; he brought chaotic, corrupt leadership to a public institution; and the FBI even launched an investigation into his crooked fundraising efforts. And in the latest scandal, DeJoy DEFIED President Biden's call for a sustainable fleet of electric vehicles and instead bought a fleet of gas-guzzling trucks.
But then, 16 states and top environmental groups SUED Louis DeJoy's Postal Service, and grassroots Democrats spoke out against this horrible decision – forcing DeJoy to REVERSE his decision. 40% of its new trucks will now be electric!
This proves once and again that public pressure from grassroots activists like you works. We're SO CLOSE to finally showing DeJoy the door – we cannot let up the pressure for even a moment.
