John,
I'm excited to tell you about Rep. Anna Eskamani, the first Iranian-American elected to public office in Florida. Since winning her first election in 2018, as one of NIAC Action's earliest endorsees, Anna has become a national figure and one of the brightest rising stars in our community.
But now Anna is running for re-election in a redistricted, competitive district, and that's why she needs our help.
Anna got her start in advocacy as a volunteer with Planned Parenthood and soon became an employee for her local clinic. In 2018, while pursuing her pHD while teaching and working full-time, she decided to run for office in her hometown in the 47th district in Florida. As a reproductive-rights advocate, Iranian American, and a pro-peace candidate, our team knew from the beginning that Eskamani was a trailblazer who would fight for our shared Iranian-American values.
That's why NIAC Action, along with President Barack Obama and other high-profile organizations, endorsed Anna Eskamani back in 2018. She won her election in 2018, then in 2020, and now she's running to represent her community in the new District 42 in 2022.
We've been with Anna Eskamani since the beginning, and that's why we need to support her through the general election. Though Anna is running in the primary unopposed, each of the opposing candidates in the general election would be a threat to the rights of our communities.
Will you help Rep. Anna Eskamani win her re-election campaign with a contribution?
