Friend,

On Friday, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Inflation Reduction Act and sent it to President Biden's desk to be signed into law.

This is a big deal.

This historic legislation includes the largest-ever investment to combat climate change, finally enables Medicare to negotiate lower prescription drug prices for Americans, ensures companies earning billions in revenue pay their fair share in taxes, and, just as importantly, reduces the deficit by $300 billion. This comes on the heels of the equally historic passage of the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act and the CHIPS and Science Act, and less than a year after the passage of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.

If Americans hadn't voted in record numbers in 2018 and again in 2020 -- giving Democrats the opportunity to lead -- none of this would have been remotely possible. Now, it's up to all of us to protect our majorities so we can build on this progress.

Our district helped put Democrats in control of the U.S. House in 2018, and now I need your help to make sure it stays blue in November. Can I count on you to chip in today?

I understand why many are frustrated by the slow pace of progress in Washington -- especially with a Democrat in the White House and Democrats in control of Congress. We are the only true big tent party, and our coalition is at times fragile -- but thanks to the tireless organizing and advocacy of millions of Americans, this will turn out to be one of the most productive Congresses in modern American history.

Is our work done? Of course not. But to build on what we've accomplished, we will need to hold onto our majorities in Congress -- and ensure that we have principled partners at the state and local levels, too. That's why this election is so important, and why we can't take anything for granted.

With fewer than three months to go, it's time to ramp up our efforts -- and as the only candidate whose campaign relies entirely on individual supporters like you, I'm hoping you'll make a contribution of any amount today.

There is plenty of good news to celebrate lately, and I remain confident that our best days are still ahead of us -- we just need to rise to the occasion. I'm ready! Are you with me?

-Dean
